Saint Paul’s Steps

Greece
Saint Paul’s Steps image

Northern Greece offers students a powerful journey through the crossroads of empire, faith, and cultural identity. Beginning in Thessaloniki—where Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman influences converge—students explore iconic landmarks such as the White Tower, the Arch of Galerius, and the Rotunda, tracing the city’s layered past. A cruise along the shores of Mount Athos reveals the spiritual and architectural grandeur of centuries-old Orthodox monasteries, while visits to Philippi, Kavala, Berea, and Corinth illuminate the path of Saint Paul and the early spread of Christianity into Europe. In Pella and Vergina, students stand at the heart of ancient Macedonia, connecting to the legacy of Philip II and Alexander the Great. The journey culminates among the breathtaking monasteries of Meteora and the timeless monuments of Athens, weaving together classical civilization, biblical history, and Byzantine heritage into a deeply meaningful and unforgettable educational experience.
